💛 The lesson
We found it together. Nobody solves the last puzzle alone: Rivet finds the sun, Blossom aims it, Mango shares a snack and Pip is brave enough to cheer Kiara on.
🔎 Fun fact
Ancient Egyptians imagined a giant scarab beetle, Khepri, rolling the sun across the sky, just as real dung beetles roll little balls along the ground.
About this story (for grown-ups)
When a golden Scarab Dice tumbles across the board all by itself, Kiara and her friends (Blossom the unicorn, Pip the lamb, Mango the parrot and Rivet the little robot) roll it and land inside the Egyptian Kingdom. Their mission is to find the Pharaoh's three lost treasures and bring them home.
On the way they open a door covered in symbols, watch Pip turn into a bouncing ball inside a pyramid trap, search the Hall of a Hundred Chests and answer the Sphinx's riddle. Then the mischievous Sand Sprite steals the crown and switches off Blossom's magic, so the friends must win it back with clever thinking, one brave dice roll and each other.
The story is gentle and funny, with call-and-response moments such as the "Shake the Sand, Spin the Sun!" dice chant that little ones love to shout along to. Nothing is scary for long, and the Sand Sprite ends up joining the game. It makes a calm, cosy pick for an afternoon break or for bedtime.

Read along: every line of “Kiara and the Lost Pharaoh's Treasure”
0:00 Kiara: This dice just moved by itself! Look... there's a tiny Egypt inside the sand! I think it wants us to play!
0:12 It wasn't Kiara's dice. It was warm. And it hummed.
0:20 Kiara: To find three lost treasures… and bring them back!
0:23 Whoever rolls it goes INTO the game.
0:25 Pip: Or, hear me out… we don't.
0:31 Kiara: Five friends, one dice… ready? Shake the sand! Spin the sun! Golden Scarab…
0:41 Kiara: Dice… you're coming too!
0:50 Blossom: We're inside the game!
0:51 Rivet: Location: Egypt. Sun level: extremely sunny. Way home: three treasures. Beep.
1:00 Kiara: It's even bigger than the board!
1:02 Mango: Does it have snacks inside?
1:10 Pip: I want to go home. There is sand in my wool. All of my wool. Even the wool I can't see.
1:22 Kiara: Not without the treasures, Pip! Three treasures, five friends. Easy!
1:34 Three stones. Three slots. And, like all the best furniture, no instructions.
1:46 Rivet: The sun symbol goes in the middle! Confidence: very high. …Beep. The other two… confidence: low. Beep.
1:58 Mango: Scarab on the left! Eye on the right! Follow the beak!
2:02 The door thought about it...
2:03 ...and said no.
2:05 Kiara: …NOT easy.
2:10 Where should the eye go? Follow the arrows… and shout it out!
2:22 Blossom: Wait… I see a clue! The eye is glowing, and every painted arrow points LEFT. The eye goes on the left!
2:34 Kiara: Got it! Eye on the left, sun in the middle, scarab on the right. Everybody push!
2:40 Rivet: Sun in the middle. Told you. Beep!
2:44 Mango: Did that sand just... wave at me?
2:46 Nobody believed him.
2:52 The Corridor of Traps. One wrong step… something VERY silly happens.
2:57 Pip: …ten, eleven, twelve, thir— oh.
3:16 Rivet: Scanning… lamb is now ninety-nine percent ball. One percent opinions. Beep.
3:28 Pip: Why am I round?! Kiara, why am I ROUND?! I'm rolling. I did not agree to any rolling!
3:40 Mango: Left! No, right! Pip, the key's BEHIND you!
3:44 Rivet: Duck!
3:45 Pip could not duck. Pip was a ball.
3:50 Blossom: Pip! The key is under that stone… and only something ROUND can roll under there!
4:00 Pip: Deep breath… as deep as a ball can…
4:03 The key touched his wool… and POP!
4:10 Pip: I'm me again! And I've got the key. And I think... I was a little bit brave. Don't tell anyone.
4:22 Did you know? Egyptians imagined a giant scarab rolling the sun.
4:26 Just like real beetles roll little balls!
4:32 A hundred chests. One Pharaoh's Crown.
4:35 …And it wasn't in any of them.
4:42 Mango: That one! The shiniest one! Shiny means crown!
4:47 Shiny... did not mean crown.
5:04 Mango: The treasure is delicious! Honey cakes! Sticky figs! Kiwi… Kiki… KIARA, we found the snack treasure! Best day!
5:16 Blossom: Mango... that is not the crown.
5:18 Pip: He's saving one. For later.
5:28 Pip: Please tell me that's a very big cat.
5:40 The Sphinx: I shine, but I am not gold. I rise every morning, but I have no feet. What am I?
5:54 Kiara: The sun! It shines, and it rises every morning!
6:04 Kiara: The crown!
6:05 Pip: What was THAT?!
6:14 Sand Sprite: Finders keepers! Hee hee! Four thousand years of watching everyone else play... now it's MY turn!
6:26 Kiara: Without the crown, we can't go home!
6:28 Mango: She hid the crown… and switched off Blossom's magic!
6:36 Blossom: Technically, scarabs are lucky.
6:38 Mango: The Sand Door smells like snacks!
6:46 Sand Sprite: Wrong door! The crown stays mine... unless you roll a six. One roll. No magic!
6:55 Rivet: Windows… covered. Sunlight: zero. Beep.
7:00 Pip: Kiara. Today I was a ball. A whole ball. If I can do that... you can roll one dice.
7:12 Rivet: We're right here.
7:13 Rivet: Right behind you. Beep.
7:23 Kiara: I said this would be easy. It isn't. But I'm not alone. Okay, Scarab Dice… let's roll.
7:49 Sand Sprite: Ha! A ONE! The crown stays mine!
7:59 Rivet: Wait! The Scarab is awake! The one-spot is a beetle. And it is looking at... Mango's honey cake. Beep?
8:11 Kiara: The scarab rolls the sun! Rivet, find the sun! Blossom, the amulet! Mango… your honey cake! Pip, the key!
8:20 Rivet: Shutter… open!
8:22 Blossom: Got the sun!
8:23 Sand Sprite: Hey! Nobody ever finds that door!
8:31 Mango: My for-later cake?! …Okay. For friends.
8:34 Pip: Key's ready. I'm ready. Mostly.
8:37 Sand Sprite: That's not magic… that's a BEETLE!
8:39 Sand Sprite: …That wasn't a six!
8:42 Kiara: No. It was better. Rivet found the sun. Blossom aimed it. Mango's crumbs. Pip's key… and a ONE. We found it together.
8:54 Kiara: Three treasures… back where they belong.
8:56 Pip: She blinked! Friendly blink. Good blink.
9:00 Kiara: …Sand Sprite? Want to play with us?
9:04 Sand Sprite: …Really? You'd let me play? …Can I roll first?
9:16 Kiara: …Sand Sprite?
9:17 The sand carried them home. Most of it stayed in Pip's wool.
9:26 Kiara: Who's behind that little door? Next adventure… a maze that MOVES!
